- 3. Owen asks the audience for their requests. There is a request made for "Jimmy Sutton." Jarrell: "Here's a tune called "Jimmy Sutton."" (02:36)
- 4. Jarrell: "We're going to slow it down and play the old "Roving Cowboy."" (03:04)
- 5. There is talk about if Jarrell should play one unaccompanied tune or not; some of the tunes in his repertoire are hard for others to play. [They perform] "Rickett's Hornpipe." (01:55)
- 6. Jarrell breaks into the tune "Suzanna Gal." (04:46)
- 7. Jarrell: "Here's a tune my dad calls "Sugar Hill."" (03:50)
- 8. Owen talks about Jarrell's music. Jarrell is asked where he learned the tune "Ducks in the Millpond." Jarrell: "From my dad, I reckon." [They perform] "Ducks in the Millpond." (04:12)
- 9. "You wanna play a little 'Arkansas Traveler'?" Carter: Not much." [They perform] "Arkansas Traveler". (02:13)
- 10. Jarrell: "Here's a tune we used to dance a lot by on the Fishers Peak, down in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Called "Sally Ann."" (03:32)
- 1. Owen explains Jarrell's tuning. Jarrell: "I mean the Old-Time way, not the way they play it now." [They perform] "Bonaparte's Retreat." (02:23)
- 2. Jarrell explains how they learned "Riley and Spencer." "So here's how I play it now." Jarrell fine-tunes his fiddle. "I'll do the best I can." [They perform] "Riley and Spencer." (03:43)
- 3. Jarrell explains how he learned this song from an old 6'7" "yellow gal." "This is what she played." [They perform] "Boll Weevil." (02:45)
- 4. Jarrell tunes his fiddle. Jarrell announces, contrary to Owen, that the next tune is "Drunken Hiccups." [They perform] "Drunken Hiccups" (note use of pizzicato technique). (06:57)
- 5. Owen announces that they are tuning up to the key of A and will be playing a bunch of tunes there. [They perform] "Cripple Creek." (07:48)
- 6. Owen takes a request for "Stay All Night." (03:34)
- 7. Jarrell apologizes for not being in tune. Musicians tune their instruments. Owen: "Want to play 'Let Me Fall' or something like that?" [They perform] "Let Me Fall." (03:50)
- 8. [Tape rewinding.] "John Brown's Grave" is not on original tape [no content]. (01:42)
- 1. Owen appeals to audience to write the IU Union Board to get Old Time music in concert; then sells records. "Play one everyone knows, 'Lonesome Road Blues.'" [They perform] "Lonesome Road Blues." (06:49)
- 2. Jarrell: "Not the way they play it in Nashville, Tennessee. I can't sing it, it's too high." [They perform] "John Henry." (02:06)
- 3. Jarrell: I'll do the best I can." [They perform] "Reuben." (03:44)
- 4. Owen gives thanks. "We're gonna wind up with 'Cluck Old Hen.'" [They perform] "Cluck Old Hen." (03:19)
- 5. Encore. Tuning. For this number Carter switches from guitar to banjo. [They perform] "Old Joe Clark." (03:59)
- 6. Second encore. Owen: "This is 'Little Bunch of Keys.'" Jarrell [correcting him]: "'Old Bunch of Keys.'" Blanton: "'Old Bunch of Keys.'" [They perform] "Old Bunch of Keys." (01:59)
