Summary
Shows, using animation and time-lapse photography, the formation of the blood vessel complex of the chick embryo. Explains that the extra-embryonic arc is comprised of the vitellin distribution system within the yolk sac and the allantoic system, which supplies oxygen and removes excess carbon dioxide. Concludes with a view of the main blood vessels as they appear in the heart of a 96-hour embryo.
