Episode 11 from the AIT series On the Level. The series is designed to help young people understand what is happening to them as they grow up and to encourage their active participation in the hard work of adolescence-reaching maturity through social and personal growth. The twelve programs dramatize common teenage concerns like love, stress, conflict. and changing relationships with family and friends. The problem situations stimulate reflection and discussion about alternative courses of action for different individuals: the many approaches to problems, the many solutions.
From the series Ripples. DescriptionIn her studio, professional dancer Carolyn Tate performs a dance she has created for this program. She shows how she experiments with different ways to clap, to turn and to skip, and explains why she chooses certain movements for her quietly joyful dance. She does her dance a second time and invites the audience to give it a name.
Episode 16 of It Figures, a 28-part mathematics series for fourth graders. Each episode introduces real-life situations involving math concepts that can, at times, prove difficult. Often a child gets caught in the problem that does not come out successfully, but experience proves the best teacher. Capsizing the information taught in each program is a cartoon sequence. These cartoons provide previews of what follows from a live-action sequence. The content of It Figures was developed by a consortium of 31 state and provincial education agencies. Managing the project were Ed Cohen and the late Larry Walcoff. Individual programs were produced by Larry Wood Productions (in the facilities of KLVX in Las Vegas), the Illinois State Board of Education, New Jersey Network (NJN), KLCS in Los Angeles, Maryland Instructional Television and South Carolina ETV.
Episode 58 of Thinkabout, a series of sixty programs to help students in 5th and 6th grade become independent learners and problem solvers by strengthening their reasoning skills and reviewing and reinforcing their language arts, mathematics and study skills. The series is broken up into thirteen themes: Finding Alternative, Estimating & Approximating, Giving & Getting Meaning, Collecting Information, Finding Patterns, Generalizing, Sequence and Scheduling, Using Criteria, Reshaping Information, Judging Information, Communicating Effectively and Solving Problems.

Host John Robbins introduces two stories in which the reader makes decisions at many turning points, each of which can change the plot. In the first story, the reader can have several different adventures in the Old West. In the second story, the reader is given choices to make determining the course of a spaceship and the safety of its crew. Designed to encourage students to read the books.

Host John Robbins introduces two stories by Dale Fife and Lucille Clifton respectively, the first about a man's adventures involving a sack of stolen money, and the second about a lucky stone which provides good fortune for its various owners. The Rise and Fall of Ben Gizzard and The Parrot and the Thief and The Contests at Cowlick, episode 8 of Readit. Host John Robbins introduces three stories all by Richard Kennedy, the first about a cunning swindler whose good fortune runs out; the second about a thief who steals a parrot and finds it to be an awkward eyewitness; and the third about a man who challenges a gang of outlaws to one contest after another, and wins by losing. Designed to encourage students to read the books.

Episode 1 from the series Self Incorporated, a 15-program television/film series. Self Incorporated is designed to stimulate classroom discussion of critical issues and problems of early adolescence. It aims at helping 11- to 13-year-olds cope with the physical, social, and emotional changes they are experiencing. Self Incorporated was created under the management of the Agency for Instructional Television through the resources of a consortium of 42 state and provincial educational and broadcasting agencies, with additional assistance from Exxon Corporation.
Shows the confrontation of several Northern communities with the issue of Negro integration in schools, jobs, and housing. Shows Negroes demonstrating for jobs in construction work in Queens, a New York City borough. White reaction to the demonstration is recorded. There are scenes of a Negro demonstration intended to force the hiring of more members of that race by a St. Louis bank. In Chicago a barber vows he would go out of business if he were required by law to cut hair of Negroes; also in Chicago whites organize to oppose an "open occupancy" ordinance. Violence is recorded by the film at Folcroft, Pennsylvania, when a Negro family moves into a previously all-white housing area.
Episode 14 of Readit. Host John Robbins introduces the story by Claire Huchet Bishop about twenty school children who hide ten Jewish children from the Nazis occupying France during World War II. The Jewish children are safe only if the others can keep silent and not get caught taking them food at night. Designed to encourage students to read the book.
