Episode 5 from Bread and Butterflies, a project in career development for nine-to-twelve-year-olds. Based on two years of planning by educators and broadcasters, the project included 15-minute color television programs, a comprehensive Curriculum Guide, and in-service teacher's program, and international program, and workshop materials. Bread and Butterflies was created under the supervision of the Agency for Instructional Television, through the resources of a consortium of thirty-four educational and broadcasting agencies with assistance from Exxon Corporation.

An advertisement for Tonka toys in which a male narrator holding a toy truck addresses the camera about a previous Tonka commercial in which a child claimed their toy was broken by an elephant stepping on it. The narrator places the toy truck on the floor and has an elephant stand on it without breaking it. An ending title card boasts, "A toy shouldn't break just because a child plays with it." An advertisement for Dodge Dealers of L.A. narrated by a man that says, "Dodge puts pep in your driving." The scene depicts a Dodge 426 cu muscle car with Dodge Dealers decals whipping through dirt roads. The car comes to a stop at the end, to reveal an old lady at the wheel who says, "We put a Dodge in our garage, honey."
An advertisement for 7 Up featuring the folk music group the Kingston Trio as circus promoters. The Trio sings to a crowd of patrons about a trapeze artist called "Lovely Louise." One of the trio climbs up a ladder to give Louise a 7 Up, only to fall off in shock upon discovering she looks like a man. Submitted for the Clio Awards. From the series Ripples. Delicate furries, colorful sumac, and maple seeds drift and fall everywhere. Inside each seed is a baby plant, waiting to get out,waiting for water to start it growing. A lima bean, through time-lapse photography, shoots out roots, stems and leaves in the miracle of growth. The bean is not unlike a baby chick struggling to be born. Once a plant starts to grow, it tries very hard to live and succeeds in many strange and unlikely places.
