Congressman Earl Blumenauer of Oregon discusses his early involvement with the Vote 19 campaign in Oregon, an initiative designed to lower the voting age in Oregon from 21 to 19 years of age. Congressman Blumenauer describes how he became involved with the movement as a college student. He outlines both support for and reaction against what he describes as the "battle to empower young people with the right to vote." He also discusses the differences between political organization during that time period with its limitations on technology versus more contemporary methods that use social media and other technology.
Congressman Blumenauer describes how the Go 19 movement grew from a groundswell of public opinion in Washington State, discusses in-state activism and the political climate of the time.

He talks about how, as a young person, working for the youth franchise movement showed him "what was possible," meaning what young people could accomplish in politics. He also discusses the influence this work had on his later decision to run for election to the Oregon state legislature.
In the third segment of his interview, Congressman Blumenauer discusses some of the key Oregon politicians who supported lowering the voting age, including Monroe Sweetland and Robert Straub of the Oregon state legislature and Edith Green and Wendell Wyatt of the Oregon delegation to the U.S. House of Representatives. He also compares the level of bipartisan cooperation in 1969-1970 versus that in the contemporary period of the 2020s.
In this segment of his interview, Congressman Blumenauer responds to a question about contemporary attempts in the 2020s in some areas of the country to lower the voting age even further, to 16 years of age. He also answers the question of what initiatives the administration and Congress could enact to ensure the permanence of voting rights for young people, and he comments on the troubling attempts to discredit the 2020 election results.
In this concluding segment, Congressman Blumenauer discusses contemporary efforts in Oregon to secure voting rights for young people and he also mentions how secure the Oregon voting system is. He particularly discusses efforts such as mail-in ballots in Oregon and automatically registering 17-year-olds to vote as ways of ensuring youth voting rights and encouraging young people to vote. The interview then wraps up and ends.

A note from College Audition Preparation: Adventures in Brass is a project by the College Audition Preparation (CAP) of the Jacobs School of Music. The project was prompted by a lack of brass repertoire appropriate for collegiate auditions. CAP brass faculty thus commissioned renowned composer Anthony Plog to write a set of six new works for trumpet, trombone, horn, tuba, euphonium, and bass trombone. Dee Stewart and CAP assembled a roster of world-class performers and pedagogues to premiere these six compositions. In addition to recordings of the premieres, Adventures in Brass contains interviews with these faculty in which they provide technical, artistic, and practical guidance to young brass players preparing to apply to college. These videos were captured by and are shared with the help of Tony Tadey and the MITS Video production team of the Jacobs School of Music. We hope that the videos can be an inspirational and motivational force in your own adventures in brass.

Summary:
Marriage Equality Collection includes audio and video files, photographs, historical documents and ephemera representing experiences of same-sex couples married in the decade of legal marriage in the U.S. Particular focus is on the experience of couples in Indiana. This archive is growing in both content and scope.
This film was created at a A Century of 16mm experimental filmmaking workshop. This was part of a year long, multi-event, celebration of the 100 year anniversary of 16mm film that was created and hosted by the IU Libraries Moving Image Archive.
The workshop was designed and led by the IU Libraries Moving Image Archive's Jamie Thomas and Caleb Allison. Jamie Thomas projected the final film at the event on film on April 19, 2024.
Discusses such topics as superstitions about birth marks and deformities, how to relieve morning sickness, changes in clothing, and how to relax and rest. Contains suggestions for relieving constipation, shortness of breath, and dizziness as they effect the expectant mother.
