King Vidor, Hollywood director of The big parade, War and peace, Solomon and Sheba, and the silent film Our daily bread, recalls Hollywood landmarks of a bygone era and talks about his directing techniques. Includes some segments of his films.
This film shows how the staff of a British hospital has improvised a method of routinely admitting the mothers of patients under school age to a ward of traditional design without structural alterations. We are shown that ordinary mothers, when given a positive role in the care of their sick children, are generally as adequate in the ward as in their own homes. The film follows the experience of Sally, aged 20 months, and her mother as well as other mothers in residence and shows how adequately this method of care meets the emotional needs of the young child, contributes to the mother's high morale, and enriches the experience of the staff. The fact that this method has its own problems is not overlooked. This film was shot at Amersham General Hospital.
The information presented here about each recording in this collection comes from minimal original documentation by the collector and from additional research by ATM staff. These are acoustic recordings made on a cylinder phonograph and they are characterized by the relatively low fidelity and high surface noise typical of this format and recordings of this age. Some recordings in this collection may not appear in the MCO application due to damage that makes them currently unplayable. The recordings available here are derivatives from stylus-based transfers made in 2017 on the Endpoint Solutions playback machine. Minimal noise reduction and de-clicking have been applied to these derivatives to offer modest improvement to the listening experience without compromising the integrity of the source audio. Some of these recordings are matched pairs made simultaneously by Berthold Laufer in an effort to capture a clear recording of the voice on one cylinder while capturing a clear recording of the instruments on another cylinder.

In filmed interviews he discusses his general philosophy toward the theatre as a medium. June Havoc and Darren McGavin describe the feelings which most actors have toward working under Guthrie.

Presents the general nature, strengths, limitations, and developmental constructs of behavior therapy as based on the work of Clark Hull, B.F. Skinner, and Robert F. Mager. Distinguishes and explains the three types of classifications within behavior therapy: classical, operant, and cognitive. Uses dramatizations and illustrations to demonstrate the concepts of reinforcement, extinction, and punishment. Discusses criticisms of behavior therapy, and examines the ways in which behavior therapy can be applied to vocational rehabilitation.

Shows how scientists determine the content of the cigarette smoke entering the mouth and its effect on rabbits and humans. Shows how tars and nicotine from cigarette smoke are collected in a laboratory and measured, and pictures their effect on skin temperature, breathing, and blood vessels. Presents a relationship between smoking and cancer and concludes by stating that each person must determine for himself whether he wishes to take the risks of smoking.
Bash Kennett tells the story of typical activities in the southwest in the days when the great cotton farms were developed. She pictures the "grubber" who removed tree stumps, the planting activities and harvesting. The Patterson Dancers re-enact a Saturday night dance which might have taken place in a "brush arbor." Songs include "Lazy River," "Pick a Bale of Cotton," and "Polly Wolly Doodle."
