Summary:
Introduces four major choreographers--Martha Graham, Doris Humphrey, Charles Weidman, and Hanya Holt--who revolted against the conventions of ballet to produce American modern dance. Employs film clips and still photographs taken in 1934 to show the dancers and their teachers during the beginning days at Mount Bennington College.
