Shows Negroes demonstrating for jobs in construction work in Queens, a New York City borough. White reaction to the demonstration is recorded. There are scenes of a Negro demonstration intended to force the hiring of more members of that race by a St. Louis bank. In Chicago a barber vows he would go out of business if he were required by law to cut hair of Negroes; also in Chicago whites organize to oppose an "open occupancy" ordinance. Violence is recorded by the film at Folcroft, Pennsylvania, when a Negro family moves into a previously all-white housing area.
